They share their housing within VDACS and their commitment to supporting Virginia's beverage industry.

A: VBDC and VWDC are two separate, independent distribution companies that serve different sectors of Virginia's beverage industry. VWDC was established by the Virginia General Assembly in 2007 to provide wholesale wine distribution services for licensed Virginia wineries and farm wineries. VBDC was established more recently in 2024 to provide wholesale beer distribution services for licensed Virginia breweries. While both are non-profit, non-stock corporations housed within the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), they operate as distinct entities with separate boards and operations.
